Keith Kocher graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Program in Physical Therapy in 1987. He received his Masters in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from the the Ola Grimsby Institute and subsequently completed Ola's advanced manual therapy curriculum under the direct instruction of Ola Grimsby in 1993 (equivalent to the institutes DMT program). Keith has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy for over ten years. He has also been an active member of the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Therapist for over 10 years.
His passion for and expertise in sports specific physical therapy has brought professional and amateur athletes his way over the last 25 years to include the MLB, NBA and NFL. Keith has been a Physical Therapist for professional and amateur baseball players throughout the US and Internationally. His friend and mentor Dr. Lewis Yocum supported Keith's knowledge and understanding specific tissue healing. This opened the door for professional athletes to benefit from Keith's mastery of optimal tissue repair approach following injury related to the throwing athlete.
Incorporating his studies under Dr. Shirley Sahrmann, he has integrated an impairment/movement dysfunction style of treatment with excellent outcomes in in addressing pain, dysfunction, and performance. The Phoenix Suns (NBA) have been working with Keith over the past 17 years for their physical therapy as well as pregame manual treatments.
He has been an Ola Grimsby Institute instructor since 1992 which includes short term courses to residency programs. Keith continues to be invited to lecture around the country at medical conferences involving the rehabilitation of high level athletes. He incorporates the Ola Grimsby Institute concepts and curriculum in his teaching and patient care.
He is currently employed by Physio and practices in Tempe, AZ at the Tempe SPORT Clinic.
